Joy Always Comes Back

By: Barbara Beck

Barbara2_headshotI want to share a Bible verse with you that has been so important to me throughout the years.  It comes from Psalm 30:5 which says, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

I’ve often leaned on that verse when sadness, disappointment, even tragedy have come my way.  And yes, bad things happen all the time to Christians because we live in a fallen world.  But God has always healed my heart, taken my hand and walked me through trials and adversity.

For example, I’ve actually had several friends throughout the years who have lost children.  My heart has broken for them, and I am often at a loss of words.  All I can do is be there, pray and sit quietly waiting on the Lord to bring comfort and peace.

And that’s what that verse is all about…joy always comes back.

“Joy Always Comes Back!”

The loss is real and that never goes away, but God heals us.  He promises to never leave us or forsake us.  I’ve seen evidence of those promises time after time.  Weeping endures for more than a night…weeping endures sometimes interminably, but joy does eventually creep back into our lives as we’re faithful and trusting God.
