Seeking God Through Scripture

Seeking God through scripture 2 Timothy 2:15

Most things in life requires a bit of skill and sometimes, depending on the career path or job opportunity, a great deal of investment in time to learn the right way to do things! In fact, it’s one of the things that scripture mentions to us about handling the Word of God. Listen to this verse in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of truth.”

Now, I love that on our original program, Welcome Home, there are some fantastic moments for us to learn from others. Especially from some of the chefs! I can still smell some of those amazing recipes! I love food. Have I mentioned that before? Enough about me. The point is, we have opportunity all around us to learn new things, and in fact that’s just what this verse is encouraging us to do.

No matter what job or task we have in front of us, it should be our BEST work, as if we are doing it for the Lord. Unashamed of how we set about accomplishing the tasks in front of us, because we have been given the stamp of approval to do it well.

This is especially true for us as we open God’s word and share it with others. As we seek to know Christ more, we become more like Him, more equipped to face each day, when we know what His Word says. I’m so thankful for the words of encouragement, little scripture reminders that we receive here at Welcome Home from you. Sometimes it is just the right word for me to pick me up, and I’m telling you, that would not be possible if you hadn’t taken the time to listen, learn, and apply that scripture not only to my life, but to yours as well.

As we seek to know Christ more, we become more like Him.

So keep at it, everyone! Get into the Word! Apply it to your life so you can learn to handle it correctly, and you never know… YOU just might be the hope that someone needs to make it through the day!
